POSITION: EXPERIENCED OVER THE ROAD DISPATCHER

For: Dry or Refrigerated Freight.

SUMMARY

The Dispatcher works closely with drivers, customer service reps, and company management to meet customer requirements. This role involves critical collaboration with the Safety and Accounting departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers via phone and email.
Load Management: Enter and update booked loads into our customized TMS for operations to plan and dispatch.
Dispatch Coordination: Assign loads and load information to drivers, monitor driver and fleet performance.
Update Details: Provide continual updates on load details and ETAs.
Problem-Solving: Update customers on delays and equipment issues, always offering solutions.
Safety Collaboration: Work with the Safety Department to reduce DOT violation percentages.
Accounting Collaboration: Ensure drivers receive correct pay and loads are processed correctly.
Recruitment: Use social media and hiring platforms to attract new owner-operators and increase commission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Language Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years in Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, or Car Hauler – OTR.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the North American trucking industry.
Multitasking: Good customer service skills to attract and retain owner-operators.
Leadership: Ability to motivate and inspire drivers.
Problem-Solving: Decision-making skills and ability to troubleshoot with team members.
Communication: Excellent skills to collaborate under conflicting events.
Clerical & Organizational Skills: Keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of computers for scheduling and dispatching duties.
